Week 26: I know I'm a liar
Once again I've made promises that I don't keep. I never finished last week's blog by adding pictures, but they're at the end of this one. Better late than never!
I spent the whole last week catching up from the previous ones. I mailed a check that I've had for almost a month, I wrote in my journal, I went to ballet class, and I took a shower. I mean I was busy. However, my biggest accomplishment was undoubtedly finishing my literature review for my thesis. 5, 411 words down, and many more to go. It's just a first draft, but hopefully my supervisor will think it's "practically perfect in every way." Did I mention that he wants a complete first draft by September 1? Are you kidding? It's not due until October 21! My plan is to have 5 of the 6 chapters done by then, and take an extra week to write the final chapter, which will be the hardest to write b/c I have to make sense out of the whole thing. Anyway, I think I will finally have finished all my to do lists by tonight, and have time to watch a movie! I love file sharing systems.
I know everyone is dying to know how the Blackhawks did this week. They won! It would have been really hard to lose since the other team didn't have but 10 players show up. So, it was a free win if you don't count the 3.5 hours spent driving and waiting for their team to show. Karl was glad to have an extra by-week before the final regular season game against the Rangers. We need to win this game, so we'll have a winning record. It's definitely possible! We might be in 4th place, but we're everybody's least favorite team to play. We scare them! If we don't win, we'll still be in the 2 game playoffs which are played the 2 weekends after next. Then, football will be over. Karl has mentioned helping Leo coach the Blackhawks junior team which starts pre-season right after the senior championship game. It never ends!
That's about all we have going on right now. As I think I wrote last week, I'm swamped with school and Karl's still doing football and trolley pushing. He might lose that job though......(don't panic mothers.)
WORDS OF THE WEEK
Because this blog was pretty short, I thought we'd have a pair of words of the week. The theme today is school-everyone's favorite subject (ok, bad pun, sorry.) The two words are wagging and dobbing. Wagging is what you do when you skip school or class. Dobbing is telling on someone, so when you narc (sp?) you're a dobber. Fun stuff!
The following pictures are mostly from Philip Island where we got to see the ferry penguins, but couldn't take pictures of them. The first pic is during the winery tour, and the second is outside of Flinders St. Station before going to the island.
